Are you having problems opening sites that are Flash-based on your Android devices? I had similar encounters only to find out that the mobile Flash application had been ceased by Adobe. It’s really frustrating when you’re left in the dark and had to go on a frantic search to download the Flash software or a suitable Flash-alternative. Otherwise, I won’t be able to open Flash-based sites, let alone view its contents.

Having said this, this problem only occurs on my Android phone. As each and every Android device is different, the best way to install the Flash Player is by reading into the Adobe’s Community. Apparently, it’s no longer downloadable from Google Play. So, you’ll just have to do it manually.

You’re only 3 steps away, do it now!

  1. In ‘Security’, tick/check the ‘Unknown Sources’ to allow installation from other sources (the names of the menu might be slightly different if your Android are operating on different version),
  2. Search for Flash Player on your browser (select the latest version for download),
  3. Download and then tap on the notification center to install Flash player once it’s downloaded.

Note: Once installed, try opening a Flash-site to see if it works properly (best to tryout with Firefox browser for Android as not all browsers support Flash contents)

Flash-Alternative

Other than SWF, FLV and F4V files, you might want to play and watch other type of files as well on your mobile phone. However, this might be restricted if you only have the Flash Player. So you’ll need to consider other alternatives.

The other alternative of Flash Player which I’m using is the WS Player for Android. Similar to other software or applications, you can easily download it from the official website or directly from Google Play. In short, the WS Player for Android can:

  • Support almost any type of file format for playback
  • Seamlessly share files with nearby devices that’s connected onto the same network
  • Control your playback settings remotely on your mobile phone
  • Stream and watch it on larger TV screen
  • Download videos online and save it for offline entertainment

That’s the way to go forward, don’t you think?
