Mac OS X Lion (10.7) Revealed at WWDC Keynote

Steve Jobs previewed Mac OS X Lion at last October’s Back to the Mac event, since than Apple has released three developer preview versions, first at Feb 24th 2011 and last at May 13 2011. The developer preview versions and last October’s preview help some Mac gurus to get an in-depth review of the new OS, so numerous Lion-related articles are published on the internet. For most of the Mac fans, Lion OS X is not a complete stranger.

    Apple’s Annual Back to School Promo Starting Next Week

    AppleInsider reports that Apple’s currently gearing up for its annual back-to-school promotion and it will kick of next week. The educational promotion is likely to be one of the topics in this weekend’s store meetings. Rumors had it that another topic will be the launch of Cloud music service, for the celebration of tenth anniversary of Apple’s highly successful retail operations.

      What is Android Ice Cream Sandwich?

      We’ve been waiting for the update of Google Android OS, and it’s called Ice Cream Sandwich. But Ice Cream Sandwich catches our sights not only because it is the next version of the massively popular mobile operating system, but Ice Cream Sandwich signals a new era for Android. Ice Cream Sandwich will bring a Honeycomb-like feature set to the table, and at the same time tackle what’s been one of the biggest issues with Android.

      The version number will be 4.0, and we can expect to see the OS rolling out by the end of 2011.

        Firefox 5 scheduled for June 21

        Firefox 5 is expected to arrive on June 21, following with its release date comes closer, people may learn more about  the expected new features from various reports and screenshots (CNet found a bunch of screens on Mozilla’s development site Are We Pretty Yet), but keep in mind there’s nothing set in stone yet.

        10 New Features are expected to come with Firefox 5:

        1. Pin sites to your taskbar just like Internet Explorer : It allows you to add your favorite sites to your taskbar, where you can launch them directly without opening your browser first.

          Mango for Windows Phone 7

          On Wednesday at Microsoft’s MIX ’11 conference in Las Vegas, Microsoft previewed the next version of its new Windows Phone mobile operating system – dubbed “Mango” – will arrive this fall. The update will bring Microsoft’s OS more on par with its competitors by finally introducing multitasking capabilities, which allows applications to run in the background, while others run in the foreground.

          Multitasking

          For end users and developers alike, one of the most anticipated new features is the addition of multitasking, which, in Windows Phone 7, will allow both native apps and Web applications the ability to run in the background. It will also allow you to continue listening to streaming music within one application while working in another. File transfers and the ability to quickly swap between apps will be added, too.

            Apple Unveils New Final Cut Pro

            Apple on Tuesday demoed New Final Cut Pro during the FCP User Group SuperMeet at the National Association of Broadcasters conference in Las Vegas. The upgrade is a completely remade version of its pro video editing suite, designed for 64-bit and native Cocoa language from the start with support for OpenCL to accelerate video processing tasks.               iOS 4.3.2 is On the Way

              Apple now is working on another iOS 4.3.x release: iOS 4.3.2, and this new version of mobile platform is expected to land for iPhone, iPad and iPod devices within the next week or so.

              iOS 4.3.1 was released at the end of March, and fixed a pair of graphics-related fixes: one for an occasional glitch on the 4th-generation iPod touch and one for flickering problems when using the Apple Digital AV Adapter with some TVs.

              The update will bring a number of enhancements and fix some reported bugs. According to the news from BGR, iOS 4.3.2 will fix the issues with some Verizon iPad 2 models. Additionally, the new update is said to contain a fix for FaceTime in addition to security fixes for things like WebKit vulnerabilities and other minor changes.

              There’s no more detail currently available other than that, but expect to hear more in the coming week as the release date of iOS4.3.2 gets closer.

                  iOS VS Android, Which One is Better?

                  Mobile phones and other technology, like tablets, are some of the most popular products out there today. Consumers are always looking for the next best thing, whether that’s a faster phone with a bigger screen, or a tablet that does more, has a better, more comfortable design, or any other number of variables. Yet despite the wide variety of phones (and pretty soon, tablets) on the market, it seems that the single biggest factor for people is to choose the operating system that runs the phone when they’re in the market for a new smartphone.

                  Now in the market, the two major contenders are Apple’s iOS, and Google’s Android. But which one is truly better? Are they just two very different operating systems with separate appeal, or two different flavors of the same candy?

                  Let’s look at this objectively. What do both OS’s do?

                    New Released Adobe Flash Player 10.2 for Google’s Android OS

                    Adobe Flash Player 10.1 for Google’s Android OS was released last year, and now a new version Flash Player 10.2 has been introduced, which brings you various improvements, especially its better performance on dual-core processors.

                    As we know, many new and upcoming smartphones have dual-core processors with GPUs, such as the Motorola Atrix 4G and LG Optimus 2X. Flash Player 10.2 is able to take advantage of these advanced processors to provide faster performance for online games and streaming video.

                    Tablets running Android OS 3.0.1 (Honeycomb) are getting hardware-accelerated playback of H.264 video, as well as deeper integration with the Android web browser’s rendering engine.

                    All devices with version 10.2 will see improvements in on-screen keyboards.
