Recently, we have been hearing that the launch date for iPad 2 has been pushed back. But now All Things D has reported that Apple would be holding a media event on March 2 and it is highly likely that iPad 2 would be launched on that event only.
The event is expected to be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Apple’s preferred location for major product announcements, according to Reuters reports Tuesday.
One person familiar with the matter said that was “simply not true” as Apple plans to launch the new version of iPad in the same seasonal schedule as the first iPad, which was launched in April 2010.
Various retail stores have already slashed the prices for first generation iPad, which is a good indication that the newer models are around the corner and the retailers are trying to clear out the shelves.
